1. My Ribiera Guest House
Loretta says, “I was in Porto in October 2020 and stayed in My Ribiera Guesthouse. Great location and had a kitchenette to do some cooking.”
Cost: $100+ per night
2. Decanting Porto House
Cathy’s recommendation is a centrally-located boutique hotel that is “safe, and within walking distance to sites like the famous Bolhão market, the well-known shopping street of Santa Catarina, the Coliseu concert hall, the City Hall and Avenida dos Aliados. It’s also close to the train if you’re coming in that way.
“The historic, wine-themed accommodation is low-key and friendly, with 12 clean, comfy rooms and just enough charm to feel like you picked a good little spot.”
Cost: $100+ per night
3. Porto Private Villa
This quaint bed and breakfast in Porto was suggested by Debra: “The location was excellent, the Host was delightful and very helpful, place was lovely with large rooms and beautiful views of the city and river.”
Cost: $200+ per night
4. Casa dos Caldeireiros
“I was in Porto and stayed in Casa dos Caldeireiros on Rua dos Caldeireiros,” Karen says of her boutique hotel recommendation. “It was splendid, right in the heart of the historic centre and walkable to tourist landmarks. The host is very helpful. I definitely would stay here again. We had an apartment with a balcony that looked over the city and river.”
Cost: $200+ per night
5. Moov Hotel Porto Centro
Karen recommends the Moov Hotel Porto Centre: “This hotel is right on the edge of the historic district and within walking distance to all the major sites and a main shopping street. A bonus was that it was a short walk to the funicular, which takes you down to the river. The hotel is clean and modern but lacking in some frills (and as such not overly expensive). I would stay there again.”
Cost: $100+ per night
6. Maison Albar – Le Monumental Palace
Maison Albar Le Monumental Palace is in a super safe, central spot—easy walking to pretty much everything in Porto. The rooms are cozy without being fussy, the pool’s a nice break after a day out, and the whole place feels fancy but chill. Rooms can be reasonably priced in the off-season, but prohibitively expensive during peak.
Cost: $400+ per night
